‘Bonstato’ is the word for wellbeing in the once-proposed universal language ‘Esperanto’. The word Esperanto has roots in the Spanish word ‘esperanza’ which means ‘hope’. Royal Perth Hospital’s Centre for Wellbeing and Sustainable Practice now offers a multi-level training program for healthcare professionals interested in developing their capacity for reflective and compassionate practice. This workshop offers an introduction to the course named ‘Bonstato’ that provides training for wellbeing advocates, peer group facilitators and wellbeing officers. Participants will be introduced to the principles and concepts behind Bonstato, and engage in a simulated peer group.
