About the Conference
The 2019 Aboriginal Health Conference Kids on Country, provided an opportunity for rural medical and health practitioners to discuss the importance of children and youth in Aboriginal communities and exchange ideas on the key issues relating to the health of Aboriginal children. The conference also identified strategies to support the role of traditional interactions in Aboriginal communities.
Dr Amanda Wilkins and Dr Robyn Williams of FASD C.A.R.E Inc. opened the conference with an insightful keynote presentation exploring the past, present and future of FASD. Dr Asha Bowen of Telethon Kids Institute delivered the afternoon keynote speech and provided delegates with an update on skin infections in children.
In addition to the three keynote presentations, delegates also had the choice of attending a variety of clinical updates, case study discussions and workshops, which covered aspects of clinical care, research, community programs, emerging health issues and social determinants of health.
