Travel

Rural Health West will provide the following travel support for currently practising medical practitioners, nurse, midwives and Aboriginal health workers who work and live in rural and remote Western Australia.

  • Fuel reimbursement; or
  • Allocated air travel amount based on region for doctor, nurse, midwife or Aboriginal health worker (delegate) and partner; and
  • Allocated air travel amount based on region for up to two children* will be considered in the following cases:
    • Doctor couple who both practise and register to attend the full conference
    • Doctor and nurse/midwife couple who both practise and register to attend the full conference
    • Nurse/midwife couple who both practise and register to attend the full conference
    • Aboriginal health worker couple who both practice and register to attend the full conference
    • Doctor and Aboriginal health worker couple who both practise and register to attend the full conference
    • Nurse/midwife and Aboriginal health worker couple who both practise and register to attend the full conference
*Approval needs to be sought from Rural Health West prior to booking children's flights with Corporate Traveller.

Please note
Full attendance at the conference is a condition of payment of flights and travel reimbursement by Rural Health West. If you are not in attendance for the full conference program, you will be charged for the cost of your travel. Tickets booked prior to full registration payment being received by Rural Health West will not be authorised.

Flights

To be eligible for flight travel support, medical practitioners, nurses, midwives and Aboriginal health workers must book all flights through Corporate Traveller. Should the cost of the airfare exceed the flat rate travel allowance for your region (as per table above), Corporate Traveller will request payment from you for the difference at the time of booking.

Fees for changes to tickets are not reimbursable by Rural Health West. Should you wish to travel to or from Perth outside of the specified conference dates, your fare can still be covered on condition no additional expense to the organisation is incurred.

After registering for the conference, please contact Corporate Traveller as soon as possible to book your flights by emailing Rene Gair or Cynthia Williams at cynthia.rene@corporatetraveller.com.au with the following information:

  • Name of traveller/s as per personal ID
  • City/town of departure
  • Preferred dates and times of travel
  • Contact numbers – ideally a mobile and a landline
  • Frequent flyer number/s
  • Any other requirements you have

Fuel reimbursement

If you are a medical practitioner, nurse, midwife or Aboriginal health worker who is driving to Perth for the conference, you are eligible for a reimbursement for your fuel expenses (up to the maximum travel allowance listed above) to and from Perth to your home town.

A Reimbursement Form will need to be completed and posted to the Events Team at Rural Health West by Monday 3 August 2020. Please ensure that original tax invoices are provided when submitting your claim. EFTPOS receipts will not be accepted.

Parking*

The Parmelia Hilton offers valet service for your convenience.

Valet parking is $40 per 24 hours.**

*Please note the carpark at Parmelia Hilton has a maximum clearance height of 1.9 metres and is subject to availability.

Public transport

The Parmelia Hilton is a 13 minute walk from Perth station.

Perth’s Central Area Transit (CAT) free bus services operate throughout the CBD and city fringes. For more information about Perth's public transport please visit the Transperth website. 

Non-reimbursable items

Rural Health West is unable to reimburse the following items:

  • Flight arrangements not booked through Corporate Traveller
  • Flight changes
  • Accommodation and all related expenses (accommodation rates have been negotiated with the conference venue)
  • Children’s travel unless approved by the Events Team
  • Taxi charges
  • Parking fees
  • Hire cars
  • Mileage allowance for private vehicles
  • Meals other than specified in the conference program
  • Conference registration fee
  • Family program and babysitting fees
