The conference, held at Busselton’s Abbey Beach Resort from 4 to 7 November 2025, is a chance to connect with mental health professionals from across the state.
This year’s theme is Breaking Barriers: Tackling Stigma and Promoting Mental Health Awareness in Rural Communities. It’s a chance to address the stigma surrounding mental health in rural areas and explore strategies to promote awareness, understanding, and help-seeking behaviours.
The conference will also focus on advocacy, education and cultural change to help normalise mental health conversations. It highlights the importance of collaborative partnerships between health services, community groups, and individuals.
WA Country Health Service is the largest provider of mental health services for regional residents living across 2.55 million square kilometres, including more than 100 Aboriginal communities. But this isn’t work we do – or can do – alone.
We’re proud to work in partnership with Aboriginal Medical Services, non-government organisations, General Practitioners, other Health Service Providers and – most importantly – mental health consumers, carers and the community.
In country WA, the delivery of healthcare, particularly mental health and community-based drug and alcohol services, requires innovative and collaborative solutions.
On behalf of our extraordinary mental health teams across regional WA, I look forward to welcoming you for robust discussions across five broad streams of stigma reduction; mental health education; advocacy through lived experience; cultural sensitivity and awareness; and youth mental health awareness.
Whether you’re interested in presenting a paper, taking part in the exhibition program or attending agenda-setting keynotes, plenary sessions, and networking opportunities, we can’t wait for you to join us.
