From 1st January 2025, it is a government requirement to have a Unique Student Identifier Number (USI) for all nationally recognised courses that you attend.

If you don’t know your USI, you can look it up online. If you don’t already have a USI, you can easily create one it’s free and only takes a few minutes.

If you’re unable to provide your USI at this time, you may submit it later. Please email your USI to warhc@ruralhealthwest.com.au prior to attending the conference.

The Awards are a highlight of the WA Rural Health Weekend, bringing together finalists, winners, their families, friends, and colleagues for a night of celebration and recognition. It's an opportunity to applaud the remarkable efforts of those who ensure that rural communities receive the high-quality healthcare they deserve.

Funding Support

You may be eligible for support with your registration and/or accommodation fees through the Health Workforce Scholarship Program (HWSP). Please select one of the following options: 

Travel Support

Travel support is available for eligible health professional who work and live in rural and remote Western Australia. 

Delegates should check their eligibility and review travel support information before submitting a claim. For more information, please visit the Travel page.

Rural Health West will provide travel support for currently practising:   

  • GPs and medical practitioners
  • Nurse and midwives
  • Allied health workers and,
  • Aboriginal health practitioners/workers

The following travel support will be provided by Rural Health West:

  • Fuel reimbursement; or
  • Flight reimbursement up to the capped amount based on region for delegate and immediate family

Please note:  Full attendance (Saturday 14 March to Sunday 15 March 2026) of the conference is required for Rural Health West to cover flights and travel reimbursements. It is vital that you scan into every session to record your attendance. If you are not in attendance for the full conference program, you will be charged for the cost of your travel. Tickets booked prior to Rural Health West receiving full registration payment will result in reimbursement not being authorised.

Travel support for immediate family

Travel support is available for health professionals living and working in rural and remote Western Australia. Each full (two-day) conference delegate is eligible for a contribution towards the travel costs (airfare or fuel) for immediate family members' travelling to Perth at the time of the conference. Dependent of which region you live in, there is a travel allowance of $300-$500 per full conference delegate, which will be paid as a reimbursement. This is in addition to the conference delegate's flat rate for their own travel.

Please note: The capped travel allowance per delegate and for immediate family represents the maximum amount that Rural Health West will reimburse for travel only. It is not a general flat rate reimbursement amount, and proof of purchase is required.

Non-reimbursable items

 Rural Health West is unable to reimburse the following items:

  • Flight change fees, booking fees made outside of business hours, excess baggage fees, any fees not associated with the flight
  • Accommodation and all related expenses (accommodation rates have been negotiated with the venue)
  • Taxi charges
  • Parking fees
  • Hire cars
  • Mileage allowance for private vehicles
  • Meals other than specified in the conference program
  • Conference registration fee

Travel Support - Flights

To receive travel support for the cost of your flights, you must do one of the following:

Book directly

Book your own flights and receive a reimbursement from Rural Health West upon receipt of proof of purchase and a completed reimbursement claim form. Please ensure this is emailed to the Events Team by Friday 27 March 2026. 

Should the cost of the airfare exceed the capped travel allowance for your region (as per table above), you will only be reimbursed the allowance amount listed for your region. Please get in touch with the Events Team for more information. 

Corporate Traveller 

Book flights directly through the Corporate Traveller booking system. If you select this option, you will have the option to provide your contact details on the next page so that a profile can be created for you in the Corporate Traveller booking system. Within a few business days, Corporate Traveller will email you a link to access the system and choose your preferred flights. It is the delegate's responsibility to book their own flights. 

Should the cost of the airfare exceed the capped travel allowance for your region (as per table above), Rural Health West will send through a link to make an online payment. Payment must be received by Rural Health West within 14 days from the date of issue and tickets will not be issued until payment is received.

Please note: This method is not available to delegates wishing to travel with others.

How will you be booking your flights?

Please note: Flights booked through the Corporate Traveller booking system are often higher in cost, as discounted regional resident fares cannot be accessed. As a result, it is likely that your total travel costs may exceed your regional cap and you will be required to cover the difference out of pocket. 

Travel Support - Flights

As you are travelling with others, you must book and pay for your own flights and apply for a reimbursement.

Fees for changes to tickets are not reimbursable by Rural Health West. 

Should you wish to travel to or from Perth outside of the specified conference dates, your fare can still be covered (up to the capped travel allowance for your region) on condition no additional expense to the organisation is incurred.

Travel Support - Fuel

Eligible delegates who are driving to Perth for the conference, can claim a reimbursement for their fuel expenses (up to the maximum travel allowance listed above) to and from Perth to their home town. Proof of purchase is required. 

A reimbursement claim form will need to be completed and emailed to the Events Team at Rural Health West by Friday 27 March 2026. Please ensure that original tax invoices are provided when submitting your claim. EFTPOS receipts will not be accepted.

Corporate Traveller Registration

To organise your flights, we will create a profile for you in the Corporate Traveller booking system.
