Nomination Process

Nominations must include a statement of 600 words (maximum) addressing the selection criteria relevant for the award category.

All nominations must be endorsed by a second person. This person can be the nominee's Regional Medical Director, Line Manager, Supervisor, Shire President or Practice Principal.  

Nominations for the 2021 WA Rural Health Awards have closed.

Selection Panel

A selection panel of representatives from relevant rural organisations and committees choose finalists and select the winner, based on the selection criteria specific to the nominated category.

Three finalists will be selected for each award category, with the award winners being announced on Saturday 27 March 2021 at a gala dinner. 

Award finalists will be invited to attend the Awards ceremony and gala dinner and will receive:

  • Two complimentary tickets to the event
  • One night's accommodation at The Ritz-Carlton, Perth.
  • Travel support (flights or fuel reimbursements from home town)

Important dates

  • Nominations open Tuesday 22 September 2020.
  • Nominations close Monday 30 November 2020. 
  • Finalists will be advised mid-January. 
  • Winners will be announced and presented with awards at the WA Rural Health Awards Gala Dinner on Saturday 27 March 2021 at The Ritz-Carlton, Perth. 

Terms and Conditions for Nominations

  1. A nominee can be entered into more than one category using seperate nominations.
  2. Nominees must be currently employed in WA.
  3. If a nominee has been a finalist in a particular category in previous years they can be re-nominated in that category the following year.
  4. If a nominee has been a winner in previous years, they can not be considered in that category again.
  5. Each nomination must be endorsed by a second person (Regional Medical Director, Line Manager, Supervisor, Shire President or Practice Principal.)
  6. Nominees must not be subject to a professional practice notification, restriction/limitation to practice, under investigation, disciplinary process or undergoing performance management.  If a nominee is subsequently found to be subject to any of these conditions their nomination will be withdrawn.
  7. Late applications will not be considered.
  8. A confirmation email will be sent to the nominator and nominee once the submission is received.
  9. The Judging Panel may change the category for which the individual is nominated.
  10. The Judging Panel's decision is final and no correspondence or discussion will be entered into.
  11. Feedback to the nominees will not be provided.
  12. Three finalists from each award category will be invited to attend the WA Rural Health Awards on Saturday 27 March 2021, with the winners being announced on the night.
  13. Award winner/finalists may be invited to speak with the media and/or other organisations about their award.  Rural Health West and WA Country Health Service reserves the right to use any media/photos/articles for promotion purposes or publications.
  14. Privacy - Personal information about nominees and nominators provided will only be used for the purposes of assessing and judging of the nomination in the WA Rural Health Awards.
