About the conference

The WA Rural Health Conference 2023, taking place at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre on Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 March 2023, will be an opportunity to connect with health professionals from a variety of disciplines who all play a part in delivering vital healthcare services across rural WA. By bringing together all rural health professionals under one roof we seek to promote connection between these different perspectives, sharing insights and innovations in order to strengthen and enhance healthcare in rural WA.

Grants available to attend

You may be eligible for funding through the Health Workforce Scholarship Program (HWSP) to attend the WA Rural Health Conference 2023.

The HWSP provides scholarships and bursaries to help health professionals in remote and rural Australia retain and enhance their skills, capacity and scope of practice.

The HWSP is an initiative of the Australian Government Department of Health and Aged Care, administered in Western Australia by Rural Health West.

Scholarships or bursaries are available for medical, nursing/midwifery, dental, allied health and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health workers providing primary health care services in the private, not-for-profit organisation or non-government health sector, in a rural or remote area of Western Australia. You are not eligible if you are employed solely by the State Government.

To apply for HWSP funding, you must meet the eligibility requirements – further details on the website.

We are currently between funding rounds but have opened up applications for limited out-of-round funding – please contact the Program Coordinator on hwsp@ruralhealthwest.com.au for further information on how to apply.

The WA Rural Health Conference 2023 will take place on Whadjuk country. We acknowledge the Whadjuk Nyoongar people as the Traditional Owners of the Perth region and recognise their continuing connection to land, waters and community. We pay our respect to Whadjuk elders past and present and their cultures. We are committed to a positive future for the Aboriginal community.
