Candidates offered assignments with the Rural Rapid Response (RRR) Squad will be engaged as an independent Contractor through a Medical Services Agreement (MSA) with WA Country Health Service (WACHS).

Contractor requirements under MSA

·       The Contractor must undertake the WACHS credentialing process.

·       The Contractor must effect and maintain public liability insurance for a sum of at least $20 million.

·       The Contractor is indemnified by the Minister for Health for the duration of the MSA term.

·       Current Criminal Record Screening and WA Working With Children (WWC) check as “child-related work” is highly likely.

·       As part of the WACHS RRR Squad, the Contractor agrees to provide services to a WACHS site, as requested by WACHS. WACHS will provide at least 24 hours written notice of required service provision.

·       The Contractor should hold an Australian Business Number (ABN), as required for invoicing purposes. If the Contractor does not hold an ABN, invoices will be taxed at 49%

-       It is recommended the Contractor effect and maintain Income Protection insurance

Logistical arrangements

·       Travel:

Only one travel option, air or road can be claimed for each locum assignment.

o   Air – WACHS will provide one return economy airfare from point of hire to arrival site, for each locum assignment. Flight changes requested by the Contractor or missed flights will not be paid by WACHS. Meals and incidentals en route are the responsibility of the Contractor and no travel days paid. Excess baggage will not be paid unless approved by the Regional Medical Director (RMD).

o   Road – paid at 75c per kilometre from point of hire to arrival site, return.

·       Accommodation provided. Or accommodation charges may be raised as agreed with the RMD.

·       Use of fleet vehicle or provision of vehicle hire allowance will be agreed outside of the MSA, with the appropriate RMD.
