Please note: Due to recent changes in our funding arrangements, changes have been made to the Travel Support offered for the WA Rural Health Conference. 

Travel support is for the health professional who works and lives in rural and remote Western Australia. 

Rural Health West will provide travel support for currently practising:   

  • GPs and medical practitioners
  • Nurse and midwives
  • Registrars
  • Allied health workers and,
  • Aboriginal health practitioners/workers

The following travel support will be provided by Rural Health West.

  • Fuel reimbursement; or
  • Allocated air travel amount based on region for delegate and partner
Please note
Full attendance at the conference is a condition of payment of flights and travel reimbursement by Rural Health West. If you are not in attendance for the full conference program, you will be charged for the cost of your travel. Tickets booked prior to full registration payment being received by Rural Health West will not be authorised.

Travel support for immediate family

Travel support is for the health professional who works and lives in rural and remote Western Australia. Each full conference delegate will be eligible for a contribution towards the travel costs (airfare or fuel) of immediate family members' travel to Perth at the time of conference. Dependent of which region you live in, there is a travel allowance of $200 - $600 per full conference delegate, and as in previous years this is paid as a reimbursement. Please note this is in addition to the conference delegate flat rate for their own travel.

Flights

To qualify for flight travel support, eligible delegates must do one of the following:

Book directly

Book your own flights and receive a reimbursement from Rural Health West upon receipt of proof of purchase and a completed reimbursement claim form. Should the cost of the airfare exceed the flat rate travel allowance for your region (as per table above), you will only be refunded the allowance amount listed for your region. Please get in touch with the conference team for more information. 

Corporate Traveller

Book all flights directly through Corporate Traveller. Should the cost of the airfare exceed the flat rate travel allowance for your region (as per table above), Corporate Traveller will request payment from you for the difference at the time of booking.

Fees for changes to tickets are not reimbursable by Rural Health West. Should you wish to travel to or from Perth outside of the specified conference dates, your fare can still be covered on condition no additional expense to the organisation is incurred.

Fuel reimbursement

Eligible delegates who are driving to Perth for the conference, you are eligible for a reimbursement for your fuel expenses (up to the maximum travel allowance listed above) to and from Perth to your home town.

Reimbursement Form will need to be completed and posted to the Events Team at Rural Health West by Friday 12 April 2024. Please ensure that original tax invoices are provided when submitting your claim. EFTPOS receipts will not be accepted.
