Rural Health West invites you and your family to join us in Perth for the WA Rural Health Conference 2025.
To support you we are pleased to provide the following services:
- Reimbursement of childcare expenses during the conference
- Conference travel support for immediate family
Please note: Due to changes in funding, our family support offerings will look different this year. Please review the support below.
Conference Childcare
Should childcare be required for the purpose of attending the WA Rural Health Conference 2025, the Rural Health West Family Program will reimburse full conference delegates up to $400 per family towards childcare costs. Families are encouraged to source their own provider and make private bookings to meet individual family needs.
For reimbursement purposes, childcare must be provided by a service that can supply a tax invoice/receipt with an ABN. EPTPOS and credit card vouchers are NOT tax invoices/receipts. Without a tax receipt reimbursement cannot be processed.
The tax invoice/receipt demonstrating payment of childcare costs and your completed reimbursement claim form must be sent to Rural Health West NO LATER than Friday 4 April 2025.
Please note there is no Rural Health West lead Children’s Program for the WA Rural Health Conference 2025. For further information, or support finding a childcare provider in Perth, please contact Jen Maughan, Family Program Coordinator at familysupport@ruralhealthwest.com.
Travel Support for Immediate Family
Rural Health West offers travel reimbursement to immediate family members (adults or children) of each full WA Rural Health Conference delegate. This reimbursement is in addition to the delegate's own travel allowance.
For every full delegate, immediate family can claim reimbursement for their travel costs (airfare or fuel) up to a regional cap, ranging from $200 to $600, depending on region. Delegates must attend both conference days in full to maintain eligibility for travel reimbursement, including claims of travel reimbursement for immediate family.

Please note: The capped travel allowance for immediate family represents the maximum amount that Rural Health West will reimburse per family (not per family member) for travel only. It is not a general flat rate reimbursement amount, and proof of purchase is required.
