Travel support is available for health professionals living and working in rural and remote Western Australia. Each full (two-day) conference delegate is eligible for a contribution towards the travel costs (airfare or fuel) for immediate family members' travelling to Perth at the time of the conference. Dependent of which region you live in, there is a travel allowance of $200-$600 per full conference delegate, which will be paid as a reimbursement. This is in addition to the conference delegate's flat rate for their own travel.
Please note: Due to recent changes in our funding arrangements, changes have been made to the Travel Support offered for the WA Rural Health Conference.
Travel allowance by region per person (eligible conference delegates and immediate family).
Region | Capped travel allowance per delegate | Capped travel allowance for immediate family |
Kimberley | $1000 | $600 |
Pilbara | $1000 | $600 |
Goldfields | $800 | $500 |
Midwest | $700 | $400 |

Please note: The capped travel allowance per delegate and for immediate family represents the maximum amount that Rural Health West will reimburse for travel only. It is not a general flat rate reimbursement amount, and proof of purchase is required.
